A chink in the armour
If you live and if you love
There is a fair chance that you would hurt
Through shining eyes and an aching heart
You learn your lessons that never part
And you start building an armour
Piece by piece, year by year
To defend against the onslaught
Of hurtful untrue chatter
Glad that the armour is now built
You decide to rest a bit
That's that time you let someone to appear
And hit the chink in your armour
Often the armour becomes so thick and heavy it prevents me from going out and I can't even recognise myself in the mirror
