More than a friend..... OR WHATEVER THAT MEANS!

"You are more than a friend" - I have heard this phrase more than once in the past week from more than one person, and all I wana ask them is what the hell does it mean. I have never liked this phrase, it somehow puts friendship below some other vague and obscure relationship. And I have never understood why. One can have a close friend, a best friend, an old friend....but what is more than a friend??? More than a friend and less than what? No one knows....

One more irritating phrase is "we are just friends". Saying just friends is like saying that being lovers is much much better or important than being friends. No one ever says we are "just lovers" or we are "just family". Then why say just friends when you run to these very  friends when there is trouble in paradise with the so called "in a relationship" person. Arent friends the ones who put up with your whining when things go wrong? Then why put them on a number two spot on the podium of relationships.

And why am I complaining? No idea! But I wish people stop hiding behind such friendship phrases and sort out their feelings. 

Keep friendship alone....unique and exclusive and important and beautiful..... the way its supposed to be and the ways it has always been....
